Our Community

There is a wealth of knowledge in the area - many of our neighbours came here over 50 years ago to nurture the environment and get away from cities and town and create an alternative lifestyle.

From exploring the Coromandel’s pristine beaches to fishing, kayaking, mountain biking, or simply unwinding in nature, there’s no shortage of activities to enjoy. For those keen to dive into the local culture, summer programs and kiwi-spotting tours are just some of the activities offered by the vibrant local community.

There is an active environment group (Moehau Environment Group) which runs summer programmes, including Kiwi spotting at night, and you’ll find a small selection of books in your room to learn about New Zealand flora and fauna.

We’d be delighted to point you in the right direction of other activities (or explore some of the other local websites in the links below) - whether it’s hikes, surfing or the best spot to perch on the beach. We’ll also respect your privacy if you want peace and quiet.

This is the perfect space to wind down and relax.
